In. My. Element. 🍇 Florence is my dream city: it’s not only acceptable but encouraged to drink a glass of Chianti during lunch, you can wander the streets for days & not even come close to taking it all in, all the Botticellis in my favorite art museum of all time AKA the Uffizi, pistachio gelato all day erry day, and window-shopping all the leather, bedazzled, neon-dipped stilettos & clutches. 👠👛😻 #basicbitchparadise
✨BABE✨I hand-painted some leopard spots with acrylic, then turned them into a variety of color palettes for this composition. 🐆 Also, cheers to recycling assets because that rose gold metallic swipe of paint is the same one I painted for my logo when I want to switch it up into something fancy. ✨
I love you, Georgia! (Georgia as in the Eastern European country.) 🇬🇪 Three months ago, my friends & I were living in Bali and discussing where we wanted to base ourselves in the summer. I am SO glad Tbilisi, Georgia got brought up in the conversation and we all pretty much agreed on a whim. ✨ Great coworking spaces, internet speeds, coffee shops, and everything else a digital nomad dreams about. Bonus: the cutest kitten in all of Eastern Europe lives down the block from me. 🐈
Cactus garden: acrylic painting VS the inspiration! Swipe over to see the photo I snapped of some truly gorgeous prickly pear clusters, plus all the colorways I’ve been exploring. 🌈 Let me know your favorite!
Cliff dwellers. 🧗🏼♀️ These old homes are built right over the edge of a gorge here in Tbilisi, Georgia. 🇬🇪 My friends & I spent all evening Saturday exploring the old town. We tasted wine-flavored ice cream, ziplined over gardens, and ate enough dumplings to keep our bellies full for days. Georgia, you are an absolute gem. 💎
Jellies! 🍇 Swipe over to see my inspiration behind this painting. One morning in Italy as I was walking along the rocky beach, I came across hundreds of washed-up jellyfish. It was morbidly beautiful. I took a few photos, then googled, “can jellyfish feel pain?” (It was a relief to find that the answer is probably no.) Anyway, that sight triggered this watercolor.
Sitting in Armenia looking into Turkey. 🏔 The city in front of me is Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The twin peaks in the distance is Mt. Ararat, just across the Turkish border. Most notably, legend has it that this dormant volcano is the resting place of Noah’s ark. 🛶🐆🐫🦓🦘🦏🐏🐘🦍
All day erry day. 🌺 High point today: finding out my designs were finally live with @urbanoutfitters & @nordstrom. 🎉🙌🏼😁 Low point today: stubbing my toe on the sidewalk and getting blood on my sandal. 😱 Overall, a small sacrifice to a generally incredible Thursday. 👍🏼
My art just landed in @urbanoutfitters in time for summer! I’m so excited to announce another CatCoq product launch with UO! 🎉 You can now find my Tropical Fan Palm pillow in their home decor collection. — This collab wouldn’t be possible with my friends at @denydesigns. Deny supports a collective of artists & pushes us towards opportunities like this. They’ve also gotten my designs in Target & Nordstrom this year! HUGE thank you to Deny for being such an incredible licensing partner. 🙌🏼
My last post of the Georgian Sulfur Bath House reminded me of an illustration I made a few years ago of Moroccan doors. The Orbeliani Baths have a gorgeous mosque-like exterior comprised of thousands of shards of mosaic tiles. Even the color palette matches my illustration! I must have had a feeling I’d be here soon. 😜
Georgian sulfur baths are a TRIP. 💦 My roommate & I went to check them out and all expectations were blown away. When we were told we’d have a bathing attendant, we imagined the ultimate pampering experience. What we didn’t expect was to receive soapy beat downs by a dominatrix intent on scrubbing every bit of dry skin from our bodies. 😂 Needless to say, we’ll be back. Oh, and the fresh raspberries sold outside were a bonus treat. 😻 Last surprise: all of my silver jewelry is now black. Sulfur and silver evidently don’t mix. I’m kinda digging the ...
My life motto. ✈️ I’m planning a trip down to Azerbaijan for my birthday in a couple weeks & the internet is giving me SO many good ideas of what to pack into my 4-day itinerary. I’m thinking about camping, hiking, and checking out the famed mud volcanoes. 💩🌋 If anyone has recommendations, drop ‘em down below! 🙌🏼
Armenia, you are UNREAL. 😱 I roadtripped down here for the weekend & am completely blown away. This pic is just after sunset at Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in the tenth century deep in the mountains of northern Armenia. 🏔 I only got a small taste of this country before returning to my apartment in Georgia, but it’s safe to say I’ll be back. Strong potential for Yerevan to be my base next summer! 👩🏼💻
Swipe over to see the Mediterranean palm trees that inspired this brand new watercolor! 🌴 Bonus volcano in the background. I was visiting Stromboli, a small volcanic island in the Mediterranean. It’s incredibly active & erupts every 15 minutes! There is something so surreal about going about your day and then hearing a cracking eruption above you. 🌋
Believe it or not, this picturesque Mediterranean setting is on the base of an active volcano ...which erupts every 15 minutes. 🌋 — I spent the end of May on Stromboli, a little volcano island off the coast of Sicily. I joined nine other entrepreneurs for ten days of co-living and co-working for a @volcanoretreats event. — The result? A completely transformative experience in terms of business growth, embracing new adventures, and strengthened relations with both old and new friends. — Check out my blog to read all about it: catcoq.com/blog
Abstract rainbow arcs. 🌈🏳️🌈🍭 Many of my paintings are incredibly precise in terms of careful whitespace and tight composition, so it’s fun to experiment with a looser style from time to time. Swipe through to see that luscious acrylic texture!
I just discovered Georgia (the country)’s best coworking space! 👩🏼💻 (The giant disco ball had me sold.) Cheers to a month of insane productivity, exploration, and reuniting with old friends from all over the world. 🙌🏼
