I’ll always remember this hike. Had planned to play 18 holes of golf and then hike Tiger Mountain with @_zacharyaaron last summer, but the traffic getting to the trailhead at that point in the day was TERRIBLE. We got to the trailhead a few minutes before sunset and made a dead sprint for the summit. One of the better workouts I had done to get to the top, but making it in time to see golden hour turn to blue hour was worth every ounce of effort.

Mount Rainier never disappoints. Had to hustle really hard to get to this spot before the sunset burn faded away. Blend of two exposures to preserve the dynamic range of the scene. #canonusa#canon5dmarkiv
Always an adventure with this guy. @matthewsonneby and I attempted the Kautz glacier route on Mt. Rainier a week or so ago, and although visibility and conditions weren’t on our side for a summit attempt, we had a wild time exploring the glaciers on the south side of the peak. Nothing like trying to route find with 50 feet of visibility all day and finding huge Cougar tracks leading up the Wilson Glacier. Until next time.. • • • #kautz#glacier
Forgot my @teamhippohands on my honeymoon. Summer time riding up to the base of Rainier and coming home in a complete downpour could have been much warmer and dryer! If you guys live in this area, I’m super jealous. Get up off your couch. #warmhandsrevolution 📸@331dustin
Nature makes the best infinity pools 👌🏻 We didn’t notice this view at first. But as we were walking around this little alpine lake, the clouds dropped and created this milky background where the water seemed to spill over into the ether. Another reminder that no matter how many times you return to the same places in the mountains, you always see it a little differently. . Edited with @foxpackpresets
Here are a couple more shots from my Rainier climb last week. I feel like I still haven’t had the time to fully process the whole trip since it was full crazy mode as soon as I got home with family and work. Perhaps this weekend I’ll be able to get some thoughts out on what this climb meant to me and how it all went.
I can’t describe how proud I am of @jean.apples for summiting #rainer. Hats off to the rest of the @shejumps mt Rainer fundraising team for achieving such an amazing goal and supporting such a great organization! #mtrainer
Made a lil marmot rock chuck friend!! (According to wiki) These lil guys will hibernate starting September lasting through the winter. They can weigh up to 11lbs so they’re pretty light. If they ever spot a predator, the marmot will whistle to warn the others in the area, after which it typically hides in a nearby rock pile until there is no more threat. 🤫 amazin This dude was so chill with me taking photos of him 😊 . . . . . . #sonyalpha#marmotsofrainier
This past week we had the privilege of summiting Mt Rainier. Not all climbs end with a summit. I’m incredibly thankful we were graced with the right conditions and an unforgettable sunrise. You can watch a 7:36 video of our trip in my IGTV. Huge thanks to @bryanpape and @bec.pape from @miir for keeping us caffeinated while on the mountain with their revolutionary Pourigami™️ flat pack coffee dripper! Literally the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had while traveling.
Sometimes you just need to get in your car and drive. - This was one of those days where I asked my boys to get in the car and go for a drive with me. We weren’t sure where we were going and ended up here. We had a blast and got to see this beautiful scene unfold. 😌
7/11-7/12 🔸 Mt Rainier: it’s still surreal to me that this happened, that we did it and that we summitted! . . Big thanks to @rmelookaran for remembering to take pictures and for pushing me to the true summit when altitude almost got the best of me. “I’ll drag you up there if I have to”
