[ Faroe Coast ] . The rugged west coast of the southernmost island Suðuroy at Faroe Islands. The sunrise painted the sky in the most beautiful colors, such a fantastic sight! It takes some nerves to shot photos here because of the straight down drop at the edge! Not really my cup of coffee! I’m quite happy that I was able to find a great spot where I could sit in a safe distance from the edge. [ Dreams ] . I finally captured a shot of the classic cabins at Hamnøy in Lofoten with the beautiful Aurora Borealis above - I've been dreaming of this forever! Norway never disappoints! It was a fantastic week roaming around the islands back in February 2018. All kinds of different weather and I don’t think I’ve ever been so lucky before! [ Winter Purity ] . It’s hard for me to pass by this lovely cabin at Sakrisøy in Lofoten without taking a shot! Last week in Lofoten was a blast, the weather could have been better but I met a bunch of new people! A rather simple shot from this location, no fancy light from the sunrise or sunset just a bunch of snow! [ Arctic Light ] . The beautiful arctic light known as Aurora Borealis above the iconic Icelandic mountain Kirkjufell, at Snæfellsnes peninsula. This is a composite of two photos, blended together in Photoshop. The photo is in fact shot during the night while we had some Aurora above the mountain. But it was really cloudy, so it was almost impossible to catch the Aurora. This is why I switched out the sky. [ Icy Patterns ] . I find it quite funny to walk around trying out different compositions, in this case I found a more abstract approach compared to my usual photos with strong leading lines. During the winter months in Lofoten you have some great opportunities to use the ice along the fjords as foreground elements, usually you would use a long crack in the ice but I really liked the small puzzle patterns in the ice as you see in the photo. ——————————— Shot with @canonnordic • • • • #earthcapture #norge ...

[ Norwegian Dreams ] . On a clear night in the great archipelago of Lofoten, Northern Norway. The bright light from the full moon made everything seems like as if it was during bright daylight! A hard factor and a challange when you wanna capture the gorgeous Aurora Borealis. [ Namibia by Night ] . The dead ancient Acacia trees at Deadvlei during the night. A spectacular and really popular place in the middle of the Namib Desert! This is infact a national park and you need to obtain a permit that allows you to photograph this place during night. Unfortunately I was unable to get this permit so I’ve made this composite. This image contains a daylight shot from Deadvlei and a night shot from near Etosha. The two images has been blended together in Photoshop. I hope you like the outcome! I hope I can get the ...

[ Winter Glow ] . The golden glow from the low winter sun strikes through the canyon at Kvernufoss on the south coast of Iceland. This spot is less visited compared to the next door waterfall Skogafoss. This is actually why I prefer Kvernufoss over Skogafoss. When you enter the canyon it’s like entering another world. You feel isolated but at peace! The waterstream from the waterfall flows through the canyon which adds this sound of running water. [ Mighty Skogafoss ] . This is by far one of my favorite photos from Iceland! The mighty and majestic waterfall Skogafoss on the south coast of Iceland. A place visited by most tourists - the size and power of this great waterfall makes it easy to see why it is so visited. To create some sense of scale of this big waterfall I placed myself beneath it and it helped to create some depth as well. [ Mountain Fire ] . The incredible magic of Iceland! It looks like fire coming up from the snow covered mountains. Iceland really showed itself from its best side this night, well we thought so! Later that night we got caught up in a bad snowstorm. For more than 24 hours we were stuck in the middle of nowhere in the north eastern part of Iceland. [ Frozen Creek ] . It can be a struggle to get away with original photos when travelling to popular and well visited places like Lofoten in Northern Norway. I managed to capture an original composition within one of the frozen fjords along the eastern side of the archipelago. I have not seen any photos from this place before! The frozen creek made up for a fantastic leading line into the morning sun. [ Arctic Night ] . My last trip to Lofoten back in 2018 was really incredible! Not much sleep - but that is how the game is! Our first day during the trip was gorgeous, we had some great light at sunrise, a beautiful and strong sunset and to top it all off we had some fantastic Aurora Borealis at Skagsanden Beach! The moon gave some quite interesting light - like shooting at daylight.
