Michelle Pujol jewellery/painting: "seeds to silver, petals to paint" ...this is some of my creative process, my inspiration, my art, my life. Enjoy!
So excited to have 3 of my paintings chosen for this exhibition. I can't wait to see the over 100 artworks chosen as I'm sure it will be spectacular. I'll be at the opening night on the 2nd March. #repost @petrie_terrace_gallery with @get_repost ・・・ This international Women's Day the RQAS is celebrating our legacy of strong female artists with the inaugural Women's Work exhibition and fundraiser! " A boat of Bougainville" these are by far my favourite of the photos taken this morning. They would make a stunning painting! #michellepujol #brisbaneartist
Fresh from my morning : a Saturday morning photo shoot to play with some of my growing collection of small vases and by using the same bougainvillea bunch in each its exciting to see the difference moods in each or as a collection. #stilllifepainting #botanicalart
3 painting still life oil paintings submitted for an exhibition "Women's Work" coinciding with international women's day and with the @petrie_terrace_gallery . The first exhibition application for the year ........ so time to stretch my creative feathers as I feel it's going to be a jam packed exhibition year. Wish me luck! #michellepujol #brisbaneartist
Frustration: the feeling you get when your so close to finishing but your to sick to do so! So close to the end with this "Turmeric in the morning" oil painting..... but sneezing and coughing with this back to school cold my son gave me does not help for finishing details. I think I need a little turmeric of my own and bed to shake it. #artistlife #australianartist
Such a stunning flower arrangement! This one will definitely go to the "to be painted pile" ......love the textures, love the shades of blue. #michellepujol #inspiration
Editing photos to paint: This beautiful image and the swaying oriental sea's of blue I would call "Mah-jong and Hydrangea" It so poetic in its stillness. #michellepujol #hydrangea
#randomactsofstilllife continues! Using my morning before the first day of school to enjoy a nice cup of coffee, catch up with my boy and ink in a few more little #stilllife watercolours for my random act of still life. I'm working my way through the "70's to reveal soon.
Productive day turning #randomactsofstilllife inspired watercolour into oil paintings. As I wait for one to dry before the next glazed layers I move onto another so the progress seems impressive and it certainly fuels my energy to continue. #stilllifepainting This is ginger (soon to be in a gold decorated vase). I just need to find a good gold oil paint. So far they are a little opaque or brassy.
Fresh from my paintbox: using this Monday public holiday to push forward with my painting. Plan out exhibitions proposals and ideas for upcoming competition and what work I would like to sell online. I know to well that the readjustment to work, school, family, house, health is exhausting but I'm sure after a couple of weeks I'll be back to the full juggle of the routine. In the mean time down time is paint time and this "Anthurium in a vase" grows closer to completion. #michellepujol #anthurium ...
Little treasures in my garden ...... #inspiration #flowerstagram
#repost found this appropriate beautiful work as I watch rainbow lorikeets in the tree across the road from the bus stop. They noisily jostling and tossing each other for podium position on the branches to get to the best nectar.... it's quite amusing to watch. Thank you for the #inspiration @pamelapaulinephotography with @get_repost ・・・ Last day of Spring and I just finished ‘Springtime’, as part of my Native Australian Flora and Fauna series..Viewable in my Mona Vale Studio. ..
Fresh from my paintbox: An Anthurium Thursday ....... waiting for paint to dry on some of my other paintings I start another little #stilllife conversion from watercolour #randomactsofstilllife to oil. This is number of 💯 and I'm finding the comparison of process between image to watercolour (mini) to oil small work interesting. There is an effortlessness in watercolour I enjoy as a photographic image becomes an illustrative art work with simplified lines and bold patches of colour. The oil then becomes layered with washes of glaze and dabbles of light to create depth... not real but stylised. I love ...
"Orchids in a glass jar" • Oil on canvas board • 5" x 7" • by Michelle Pujol I broke my own rule with this one, I revisited this painting after I had signed it to touch up. After it had had a few days on the shelf... the warm glow of the painting came through like a dim candle light out of site of the canvas, so added more of that glow to the flowers. #michellepujol #randomactsofstilllife
With only 25 more #randomactsofstilllife to paint it's now time for the next step of process turning the 100 watercolours into oil paintings..... which as you can see with my first #1 out 💯 , these "Orchids in glass jar " have a very different feel..... I will then paint them again A4 in watercolour
Fresh from my paintbox: making progress on my "Turmeric in the morning" oil painting ..... I can see that this one is going to take many layers and even the smallest detail or dash of colour will pull it closer to completion. Now I need to wait for this layer to dry. #michellepujol #stilllifepainting
