Brian and I explored Upper Burney Creek.. we fished in the early afternoon and even had a CDFW Warden come through and chat it up with us for a bit. Super nice guy and we swapped some info about hunting, hiking and fishing. We then hiked around following the creek up stream to explore even more. I am not a fan of having to hike through marshy thick foliage, but the reward was worth it. Was hoping to hook a brooke trout, but only rainbows. Came across some bear droppings and seen that the fawns are already on the menu. ...
"McArthur-Burney Memorial Falls State Park is within the Cascade Range and Modoc Plateau natural region, with a forest and five miles of streamside and lake shoreline, including a portion of Lake Britton. The park's centerpiece is the 129-foot Burney Falls, which is not the highest or largest waterfall in the state, but possibly the most beautiful. Additional water comes from springs, joining to create a mist-filled basin. Burney Creek originates from the park's underground springs and flows to Lake Britton, getting larger along the way to the majestic falls. Within the park, the water emerges as springs at and above Burney ...
One of the most spectacular waterfalls in California. The main falls rushes over the middle but water seeps the rock and flows out through cracks along the length of the wall creating multiple waterfalls.
American Salmonfly. They are the largest North American Stonefly. The Salmonfly is a great indicator of the water quality as the larvae are extremely sensitive to pollution. Large numbers of adults translates to a healthy and clean river environment. Thanks you @foesweasel for the entomology lesson while we stayed at @clearwaterlodge #flyfishing#burneycreek
This last week I started a new chapter in my life. Guiding has been on my radar for long time, so as a way to build a good foundation in guiding I decided to go through the Clearwater Lodge's Guide School. Meeting some great people and eating some really great food! I hope to continue exposing myself to other aspects of the fly fishing industry and try to meet goals I have set for ...
Sound Healing Sunday! Haven’t done these videos for ages and yesterday we were so fortunate to be with many forms of water so here is a snippet of the Burney “creek” which is at full flow right now. Enjoy the clearing sounds of this water, close your eyes and listen to it, imagining it washing through you all the habits, thoughts and behaviors that do not serve you. Enjoy this day! You get to make it what you wish. #soundhealingsunday#soundhealing
