No plogging today, rainy evening.
Let's look at single use plastics that I could not say no in my life - my prescription drugs and supplement. I'm an old person so, yeah these are my monthly usage. 6 of the drugs are for my allergies. 2 of the drugs are for my degraded spinal discs. The supplement to help my iron deficiencies.
Only 3 containers are recyclable. Other packagings, I bring them back to the pharmacy for proper disposal because some of the drugs contain active ingredients that could cause harm to other creatures especially if it leeches into soil and end ups in waterbody.
What harm could your drugs do? Imagine, super strong pest like cockroaches and rodents; a school of wild fishes with altered hormones, unable to breed; direct intoxication because a bird thought the drug as a berry.
For Malaysians, please dispose your medicines packaging or unused medicines/supplements at the nearby pharmacies or government clinics/hospitals (check out with the staff at the pharmacy counter). #Nodrugsdownthedrain - don't flush your unused drugs down the toilet. #Nodrugsinthesoil - don't throw it with your domestic waste to the landfill. Refuse the drugs if you have ample supply left at home or if you don't plan to take your drugs as prescribed by doctor.
