Avebury Neolithic Henge -World Heritage site. Constructed around 3000BC during the Neolithic or New stone age. This is apparently the largest megalithic stone circle in the world. The outer stone circle is one on the largest stone circles in Europe. It is Britian's largest stone circle and was made up of originally 98 sarsen stones weighing up to 40 tons each. The site is also important to contemporary pagans. The early Anglo-Saxons followed their own pagan religion ( following notably Woden and Thunor) and were also associated with other prehistoric sites in the region. All my ...

Wondering what this is? I find myself still infatuated with Zilker Park in Austin! Restoration has progressed for eLiza Spring, a natural habitat for endangered salamanders and other aquatic species. Zilker built the environmental treasure in the early 1900’s. I never thought that I would be chasing salamanders! 🦎
The cathedral has 1,260 sculptures which include 32 gargoyles, each one of them having different animal heads. Burges contributed most of the designs for these. He must have been a busy man. #stfinbarrescathedral#corkcity
St Finbarre's Cathedral is a neo-Gothic style cathedral. Started in 1865, the cathedral took 14 years to be built. The western façade is definitely my favourite part of the cathedral. It’s design was based on medieval French iconography. Do you often have to put on a façade when dealing with people? Or are you able to be yourself? #stfinbarrescathedral#corkcity
Rebranding the Corner House Restaurant & Bar in Sandwich NH. The @cornerhouseinn Under new ownership took huge steps by taking this historic inn cleaning it up and taking it to the next level. Here you can see the new and improved look, compared to the 2 previous logos. #smallbusiness#familybusiness

Where is this? Photo by @lenourkova.knihovnicka Medieval fact of the day 2) Of all the harebrained schemes in the Middle Ages, it’s hard to beat the Children’s Crusade. This crusade, staged in 1212, involved sending children to the Holy Land to convert the Muslim population peacefully. According to accounts, the children only made it as far as Italy before merchants promising to take them to their destination instead sold the kids into slavery. NYC and Philadelphia. We got to see a few nice places when we were there. In New York we went to see the World Trade center memorial and took the kids to the newest tallest building One World Observatory. Then we went to Times Square. In Philly we only stayed for a bit, but we still enjoyed learning about the oldest penitentiary. The tour was very nice and the kids actually enjoyed learning more about this historical place. ________________________________________ #world#worldtradecenter ...
