#yarnlovechallenge2019 day 1 #intro this is me Jen. I don’t remember starting to knit 🧶 . It’s just something I’ve always done since a young child. I knit. I sew. I walk. I read. I listen to music . With the cold snap really happy I had my hand knits
Part of the birthday girls presents. 1 reversible pinafore & three pairs of shorts from @puperita patterns 2 of the 6 personalised t-shirts. She went straight for the pinafore when she opened the present 💝 #sewers#sewersofinstagram
I do love a bit of #upcycling. Original cushion was the brown one I’ve recovered two so far with #fabric I bought at without knowing what I would use it for. I decided against painting the chairs as I don’t know what their next reincarnation will be.
Finished my #mechashawl. Easy, enjoyable knit. I used the yarn from @bluebellyarns advent calendar instead of the yarns specified and didn’t change colours as suggested. The icord bind off looks great still have half of the multi green and red left. @annanikipirowicz #shawls
I am in a quandary. I am going to knit the first @curioushandmade #theshawlsocietyiii#theshawlsocietyiii shawl but as I am stash shopping this year am going to knit it with three colours instead of two. I have narrowed it down to these four options. Which do you think I should choose?
Day 2 why? I don’t know why o craft I always say it’s part of my DNA as I don’t recall when I learnt. Knitting calms me down without realising it and I can feel the calm wash over me when I sew. I sew for myself , family and friends. #makersmay#knitting
#makermay Day 1 Makers Me. I’m a knitter, sewist/sewer, curator of a large fabric and yarn stash, collected over many years. I mainly@make for myself, family and a couple of friends. This year I am shopping from the stash and currently have three projects on the go. I love yarn and fabric. I’m wearing #letterpresscowl from
Day 26 #machine#sewingmachine I am lucky enough to own a Brother Super Galaxie 3000D. It embroiders as well as quilts. I have had it for around 20 years. If I’m being happy honest I don’t use the embroidery part much. My biggest regret regards sewing machines is donating my mums collection of singer sewing machines to the local school years ago. Now of course I would like to get one to teach my granddaughter how to sew.
Day21 #threads#sewinglovechallenge I have so many threads many from the fifties and onwards. I inherit craft stuff. I have recently had a clear out of my threads and I only kept my and and donated the rest to a local care home. Remember to match the thread to the fabric. Cotton to cotton
Day 22 #pdforpaper I am torn with this. I have only recently discovered PDF patterns as I always shows away from all that piecing together but now for children’s patterns I prefer PDF. I can cut the size out and then as they grow I can print another size out so more cost effective. I’m too lazy to do the tracing for each size . However I prefer the paper patterns for adults #sewinglovechallenge
