If everyone in the United States stopped using plastic straws, thousands of land and marine animals would be saved from ingesting them and dying. The process of making plastic straws also releases large amounts of toxic chemicals that are harmful to our environment. We use them for such a short amount of time and when we throw them away they decompose for centuries. Why is it so hard for people to give up something that isn’t even that important.
