Featured Four - A Peek into the Bins 👀 1. This, the only copy we’ve seen, may be the scarcest of the landmark series – especially since it unfortunately plays Side 2 on both sides! ($7) 2. Yes, this was on vinyl, too – nobody wanted it then ($26) 3. One of our favorite singers of the Fifties and Sixties ($6) 4. Came in with a bunch of other rock ‘n’ roll ($6) 🎵 #louiscottrelltrio#mariahcarey
I've posted about this LP before and probably will again but I listened a little earlier and was floored by it. What a voice, what an atmosphere, you talk about some uncharted territory on steel guitar, The Big E Buddy Emmons really lit it up. 🔥 10/10 #rayprice#nightlife
I played the honky tonk stage at Billy Bob's with my first band when I was 17 years old. Over the years I've spent lots of time there as a musician, as an actress for a few commercials and films, as a choreographer for a few Dodge truck commercials, as a concert goer, as a merch Mama or a runner for the bands and crew. I finally took a few minutes Saturday night to really enjoy all the musical greatness that has graced that stage and that building. #cheaptrick#shooter ...
Totally ready. This here’s good enough to share. 💙 ・・・ Remembering Ray Price, born on this day in 1926 in Perryville, Texas. Here he is singing his song “I’ll Be There If You Ever Want Me” in 1957. #repost @dusttodigital with @get_repost #rayprice
Was reminded today is Ray Price’s birthday, born Jan. 12, 1926 in Perryville, TX. This is a peek at his 1963 album, “Night Life,” a favorite of the TPPS. Happy Borthday to the ‘Cherokee Cowboy’! #rayprice#countrymusic Yep, we’re big fans of Ray Price Incase you didn’t notice, lol.
Celebrating the late great fellow Texan Mr. Ray Price’s birthday today. We were fortunate enough to see this exact Nudie suit while passing through Brady, Texas last year on the road. Please visit and support the Heart of Country Museum there, they have an incredible collection worth seeing and need donations! 📸 @kevinskrla . . . #rayprice#nudiesuit
It took forever to get through this gorgeous Christmas haul! The family dug deep into my Amazon wishlist...and a shout out to @docs_records in Ft. Worth and you cousin Ash for digging deep. Once again I had to drop weight at the airport and carry on the vinyl. I think I've learned my lesson. #wineandviny#betteronvinyl
Wild in sorrow? Ridin’ and hidin’ your pain? Maybe you just need a bevy of whiskey and some old country songs to help them spirits move around some... Come down to @bigfootlodge this Sunday from 5pm-9pm and let your head swirl to some rotgut soaked country tunes. No cover, stiff drinks, 21+, best damn bar in town. Hope to see ya there!
New addition to the TPPS archive: Ray Price “Sweet Little Miss Blue Eyes” b/w “Let Me Talk To You” promo single - Columbia Records, US pressing (1955). Formerly the property of KRMG Radio (Oklahoma). #rayprice#honkytonk
Another step in relearning how to sing my setup is as lo tech as possible mic into reverb pedal into mixer and the blackstar id in the background for the guitar my voice was badly damaged in 2018 from a sever chest infection and it is not recovering very quick so i apologise for any hearing loss after this video #rayprice#forthegoodtimes
Ray Price’s 𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓛𝓲𝓯𝓮 is considered one of the last true Honky Tonk albums created before Country was introduced into a mainstream Billboard ranking format, in which it predated by a year and still successfully landed on the chart in 1964. I personally love it’s blend of country, blues and smokey ambience that perfectly encapsulates its title track and cover art; evoking the pains of a touring artist. The album features Ray Price’s regular touring band the Cherokee Cowboys, and features Willie Nelson, Johnny Paycheck, Buddy Emmons, and Floyd Cramer! A panel of music critics later published this album in ...
Per @texasphonographic : If anyone has a lead in where I can find a copy of Ray Price’s “Jealous Lies” b/w “Your Wedding Corsage” 78rpm single, I would greatly appreciate it! This is Price’s first single, released in 1950 on Bullet Records. It was recorded in Dallas and would serve as a key piece in the TPPS archive. #rayprice#countrymusic

“Fine lines have traced sweet memories lightly on your face and I don't care if every hair's not always right in place, I can see forever when I look into your eyes and sometimes things that can't be seen is where real beauty lies” ✌🏻. ❤️. 😀. #rayprice#country

This dude, he's got heartaches by the number. I don't have heartaches, I have a family. I'm listening to this Quad in 2 channel stereo very quietly so I don't wake up the family. I wouldn't want to give myself any heartaches. #rayprice#forthegoodtimes

Remembering the great Noble "Ray" Price who passed away five years ago today. (January 12th, 1926 – December 16th, 2013) I only had the pleasure of seeing and meeting him once, but I won't ever forget it. #rayprice#honkytonk
