Story Time! I'll try to keep it short 👍 Sunday I decided to hike into a lake because most roads are still closed. I wasn't prepared to do so, so I threw my waders on, got limited gear together, and left everything else behind. I fished for hours unsuccessfully, until I finally found an inlet where fish were piled up and actively feeding. I missed a few, lost a few, and finally landed a brown. 10 minutes later I popped a fly and went to the ground to retie. When I finished tying one on, I got up ...
Here’s a little throwback on this #trouttuesday to a wonderful rainy day summer brown. I got this gal in the Saco to bite on a size 4 muddler minnow/sculpin pattern. The water was a bit murky and I needed some weight to get down. A few swings with some little line twitches, and wham - fish on! #keepemwet
After a quick chat with a passing by kayaker I tied into a nice little sipping brown trout. Took ye ol parachute adams. #trouttuesday#topwatertuesday @cortlandline @stcroixrods @orvisflyfishing @simmsfishing @scientificanglers @gopro @umpquafeathermerchants @korkersfootwear
Trout Tuesday. Caught two fish at once. It was a pretty good day of fishing. 🎥 @jdc7bigrig @clackacraftdriftboats @rising3474 @sageflyfish @nrsouthforklodge @badlandspacks @sawyeroars @mossyoakfishing #flyfishing#trouttuesday
#topwatertuesday and #trouttuesday combo with an Adam's sipping brown from early April. Warmer temps triggered some hatches that week and I got to reap the benefits. 😁 it was essentially dark when I caught this fish, I wasnt even sure it rose to my fly 😅, but it was close enough I was lifting that rod tip regardless. @stcroixrods @orvisflyfishing @simmsfishing @scientificanglers @gopro @umpquafeathermerchants @korkersfootwear
#trouttuesday brought to you by the Oncorhynchus clarkii, AKA Cutthroat Trout. In Southeast Alaska, you can find these trout both in freshwater and in saltwater and the reason that some fish migrate to sea while others stay in fresh water remains an interesting question, according to ADF&G. 🐟 🌲 - - - 📷 @sydneyakagiphoto #cutthroattrout
#trouttuesday. Big, beat up brookie from a few summers ago. Can’t wait to put on my hippy shoes and get back up to the high country. Thankful for all the moisture, but this 52,000% snowpack in the Gunni basin needs to go! - #coloradoantlers
First fish of the day almost doubles my previous best. This 11 lbs laker made my day. I didn’t think it would get any better, until an hour later when I crushed my record again with a 16 lbs trout. Only two fish for a whole day of fishing but I could not be any happier! 😁 #trouttuesday#cariboulodgeoutfitters
#trouttuesday compliments of our friends at @run_n_gunadventures ~ WOW! What a beauty!!!! 🙌🏻😍 . . Posted @withrepost • @run_n_gunadventures This is what a TRUE 10lb trout looks like! @capt_calebrush joined the iconic 10lb trout club this morning while wading with clients. Fish went right at 10.5lbs. Congratulations on accomplishing something very few can say they have. We have openings in July for anyone interested #teamrng Office: 979-476-5858
I thought I was snagged. I was about to tell Dave to stop the boat when the huge head shakes started. At first my drag was set too tight, I’ve never seen my rod bend like that, and it started pulling me overboard. Managed to get the drag set and not snap my line and the fight was on. It seemed like I was so excited that I forgot everything I’ve ever learned about fishing. The moment I saw him I actually jumped. “It’s a whale!” And it was, the biggest trout I’ve ever seen. It blew my mind that ...
I’ve been busy and haven’t got out on the water yet this week. Here’s a little #trouttuesday throwback from a year ago today. It was a rainy morning on the Saco and after an unproductive hour of swinging size 10-8 streamers, with no prevail, I tied on a size 4 sculpin impression that was similar to what I had been tossing in a smaller size. I pounded the same banks I had been hitting knowing that there had to be fish in that section. I was rewarded with this beautiful brookie, a little fin rot but what a fish! #keepemwet
